Water-cooled laser: laser is cooled by chiller, two tubes connect laser and chiller

(there are two types of chiller: air-cooled chiller and water cooled chiller, click here for the difference)

Comparison:

Air-cooled laser Water-cooled laser
Compact Bulky, external chiller needed
Temperature cannot be lower than environment air temperature Temperature can be lower than environment air temperature
Cooling performance is affected by air temperature Cooling performance is slightly or not affected by air temperature
Cooling capacity is low Cooling capacity is high
Dust problem No dust problem
Noise Can be quiet
Cost low Cost high
For small power lasers For high power lasers
